MUSIC WORKSHOPS, CAMPS, and other events

In addition to our spring and fall classes, we periodically offer special learning events. We’re also proud to support selected music workshops, camps, and other music-related events around our state.

Black Rose Songwriting Circle

The Black Rose is now holding a monthly songwriting workshop taught by Black Rose member and performer Annette Conlon. This is targeted at giving guidance to existing area songwriters, or to people new to the craft who want to understand and experience what songwriting is all about.

  • When: Third Tuesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

  • Where: All Souls Unitarian Church, 730 N. Tejon St. - same place as our Thursday jams.

  • Cost: As with jams, all we ask is a small donation at the end of the class to cover the rent: $5-$10 suggested.

Please bring your laptop/iPad/notebook/computer and your cellphone, a notebook to write on, a pen or pencil, and your instrument of choice.

Colorado Roots Music Camp

Looking to immerse yourself in a full week of music classes in the same styles and genres you have grown to know and love in the Black Rose? Then check out the Colorado Roots Music Camp, a partner of the Black Rose located just an hour west of Colorado Springs in a scenic mountain getaway nestled in the forest on the backside of Pikes Peak.

Roots Camp happens twice each year in June and August. You will find many Black Rose members at the camp. In fact, the majority of our Board Members first met one another at Roots Camp in years past. A summer Roots Camp is a perfect complement to our spring and fall Black Rose group classes.

See Colorado Roots Music Camp for all the details.
